CARSMULTIVERSEWatch a recall

Transport Canada carries this recall as 2023107, dated 1 March 2023. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 23V131, dated 28 February 2023. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, PC956.

The two registers are 1 day apart: the American entry is dated first, the Canadian one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 23V131, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the bolt that attaches the steering wheel may not have been properly tightened or may not have been installed. As a result, the steering wheel could loosen or detach and cause a loss of steering control. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA loss of steering could increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnNissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the steering wheel bolt. Nissan also advises to inspect the steering wheel by gently moving it forward and back. If the steering wheel feels loose, you should stop using the vehicle immediately and contact a Nissan dealership to arrange towing.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2023107.
