Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the starter wiring harness may have been routed incorrectly. As a result, the wiring could be damaged by contact with the driveshaft. If this happens, the wiring could short circuit and melt or cause a loss of power to the wheels. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Wiring that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnMercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the starter wiring harness, and re-route it as necessary. If the wiring harness is damaged, the dealer will repair or replace it, as necessary.
