Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the steering wheel hands-on detection system may not detect when the driver removes their hands from the steering wheel. If the driver has an emergency and is unable to drive, the emergency stopping assistant system would not activate. rnrnSafety Risk: rnAn emergency stopping assistant system that doesn't work in an emergency situation could increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnBMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the steering wheel ground connection and, if necessary, tighten it.
