Transport Canada carries this recall as 2024586, dated 4 October 2024. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 24V741, dated 3 October 2024. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, RVXX2408.

The two registers are 1 day apart: the American entry is dated first, the Canadian one second.
These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.
Read the American notice 24V741, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnUnder certain conditions, a software problem may cause the throttle signal to be inverted. If this happens, the engine may not return to idle. As a result, the trucks don't meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. rnNote: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a Cummins X15d engine. rnrnSafety Risk: rnAn engine that doesn't return to idle could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnVolvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the electronic control unit software.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2024586.
