Both registers carry the same date for this defect.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 24V937, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain trucks, a software problem could cause the pedestrian warning system not to work properly. As a result, the vehicle may not produce enough sound when the vehicle is stationary. New Canadian regulations require electric vehicles to make a minimum sound level when the vehicle is stationary. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA pedestrian warning system that doesn't work properly could create an increased risk of injury for other road users. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnGeneral Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the body control module software.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2024763.
