Transport Canada carries this recall as 2025221, dated 23 April 2025. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 25V269, dated 15 May 2025. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, 72LC.

The two registers are 22 days apart: the Canadian entry is dated first, the American one second.
These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.
Read the American notice 25V269, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue:rnOn certain vehicles, the third-row bench seat may be wide enough for three passengers but is only equipped with two seat belts. As a result, the seat may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations.rn rnSafety Risk:rnNot wearing a seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash.rn rnCorrective Actions:rnTo reduce the safety risk, Volkswagen advises that you shouldn't transport more than two passengers in the third-row bench seat. Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install trims on the third-row bench seat to adjust the width.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2025221.
