Issue: rnOn a small number of buses, the wheelchair tie-down retractors may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the retractor(s) may not lock automatically. If this happens, the wheelchair may not be secured correctly and could move in a crash. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA wheelchair that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnTo reduce the safety risk, Micro Bird recommends you confirm the wheelchair is secured properly by attempting to move it before driving until the recall repairs have been completed. Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheelchair retractor(s).

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2025605.
