Issue: rnOn one vehicle, the front passenger seat belt buckle may become blocked after the automatic locking retractor (ALR) is used. As a result, the front passenger may not be able to use the seat belt. rnrnSafety Risk: rnNot wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnIn the interim, if this problem happens, to reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz advises that you can move the front passenger seat to the rearmost position to unblock the seat belt buckle until the recall repairs are completed. Mercedes-Benz will notify the owner by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the front passenger seat belt.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2026219.
