Concern

Possible risk of fire

Defect, as DVSA words it

A short circuit on the printed circuit board for the washer fluid heater may overheat the control-circuit ground wire. This may cause other electrical malfunctions create an odour or cause smoke. In rare cases it may cause a fire.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Recall all affected vehicles and install a wiring harness which includes an in-line fuse.

What changed since we first read it

Nothing yet. The wording has been the same on every read since 4 September 2026. The file is read again every day; if DVSA rewrites the defect, remedy or concern, the old and new text will appear here with both dates.

The same recall in other registers

No match found in the American, Canadian or European registers by manufacturer reference, because DVSA lists none for this recall. A recall can exist abroad under a different reference; this site only claims a match when the reference agrees.

Cadillac ESCALADE in the other registers

This site holds seven national and European registers. Cadillac ESCALADE is named on 23 American notices, 36 Canadian, 5 European and 22 Israeli. Those are separate campaigns, filed with separate authorities on their own schedules.

Nothing here says any of these is this notice in another country. A model recalled in one country is often recalled in another, in different words and at a different time, and the authorities do not cross-reference each other. Reading them together is the reason this site holds more than one register.

Cadillac elsewhere in this register

Cadillac is named on 17 notices in the copy of the DVSA’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

The same concern: POSSIBLE RISK OF FIRE

3 notices in this register name POSSIBLE RISK OF FIRE. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what the DVSA published in its file of vehicle recalls, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /uk-recalls, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the Cadillac Escalade, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
