Concern

Rear seat backrest may collapse in a collision

Defect, as DVSA words it

It has been identified on the CLA Shooting Brake models with load compartment package the rear seat back-rest retaining bracket threaded connection may not have been manufactured to the correct specification. If the vehicle is involved in a frontal collision and the rear seat back-rest is subjected to heavy loadings from heavy items moving in the truck then the retaining bracket can work loose and allow the rear seat back-rest to collapse and possible cause an injury to any occupants.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Recall the affected vehicle and replace the rear seat back-rest retaining bracket mounting bolts.

What changed since we first read it

Nothing yet. The wording has been the same on every read since 4 September 2026. The file is read again every day; if DVSA rewrites the defect, remedy or concern, the old and new text will appear here with both dates.

The same recall in other registers

No match found in the American, Canadian or European registers by manufacturer reference. A recall can exist abroad under a different reference; this site only claims a match when the reference agrees.
