Concern

Engine hatch may show closed in error enabling engine to be started

Defect, as DVSA words it

It has been identified that due to corrosion the engine hatch switches may become stuck in closed or compressed position. This will indicate that the hatch is closed regardless of whether the hatch is in the open or closed position. In this condition the engine can be started with the hatch in the open position. This will therefore pose a risk of injury to any maintenance staff working in the engine compartment.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Recall all affected vehicles to replace the current switches with new roller type switches.
