Concern

Possible brake failure

Defect, as DVSA words it

The brake fluid in the front brake system could be contaminated. The contamination can cause the brake fluid to gel and / or corrosion to the master cylinder banjo bolt threads sufficiently severe to cause leakage or failure. If either of the conditions occur it will lead to a reduction in brake performance and increase the risk of a collision / incident.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the banjo bolt brake fluid and where necessary the master cylinder.

What changed since we first read it

Nothing yet. The wording has been the same on every read since 4 September 2026. The file is read again every day; if DVSA rewrites the defect, remedy or concern, the old and new text will appear here with both dates.

The same recall in other registers

No match found in the American, Canadian or European registers by manufacturer reference. A recall can exist abroad under a different reference; this site only claims a match when the reference agrees.

Harley Davidson FXDF in the other registers

This site holds seven national and European registers. Harley Davidson FXDF is named on 1 American notices. Those are separate campaigns, filed with separate authorities on their own schedules.

Nothing here says any of these is this notice in another country. A model recalled in one country is often recalled in another, in different words and at a different time, and the authorities do not cross-reference each other. Reading them together is the reason this site holds more than one register.

Harley Davidson elsewhere in this register

Harley Davidson is named on 66 notices in the copy of the DVSA’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

The same concern: POSSIBLE BRAKE FAILURE

2 notices in this register name POSSIBLE BRAKE FAILURE. A defect that keeps returning under one heading is worth reading as a group rather than one notice at a time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what the DVSA published in its file of vehicle recalls, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /uk-recalls, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
