VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 300 C.I.D. ENGINES AND CARTER IV CARBS. A WORN, TAPERED THREAD TAPPING TOOL WAS USED INSTEAD OF THE SPECIFIED STRAIGHT THREAD TAPPING TOOL. THE NON-UNIFORM THREAD COULD ALLOW GASOLINE LEAKAGE FROM THE FUEL FILTER TO CARBURETOR CONNECTION CREATING THE RISK OF AN UNDERHOOD FIRE.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1977108.
