VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH INADEQUATE CLAMPING OF THE STEERING COUPLING FLANGE TO THE STEERING GEAR INPUT SHAFT. THIS CONDITION MAY CUASE FLANGE SPLINE WEAR AND PROGRESSIVE LOOSENESS WHICH COULD PROGRESS UNTIL FLANGE SLIPPAGE OCCURS AND STEERING CONTROL IS LOST.
