TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH AIR STARTERS AND BUILT FROM APRIL 12, 1976 THROUGH MARCH 22, 1978. TWO ELECTRICAL GROUND STRAPS, ONE TO THE ENGINE AND ONE TO THE FRAME, WERE OMITTED FORM AIR START TYPE TRUCKS. THIS CONDITION RESULTS IN INTERMITTENT LOSS OF ELECTRICAL GROUND WHICH CAN CAUSE A DIMMING OF THE VEHICLE LIGHTING SYSTEM OR A FALSE INDICATION OF ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM FUNCTIONS.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1978071.
