A CRACKED CHECK VALVE MAY CAUSE THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM TO LOSE ONE-HALF OF THE AIR SUPPLY WITHIN THE SYSTEM. THIS CONDITION WOULD INCREASE STOPPING DISTANCES AND MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1978027.
