VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN DECEMBER 20, 1976 AND MARCH 22, 1979. A METAL STIFFENER AND ITS ATTACHING BOLTS LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE HOOD MOUNTED RUBBER SPLASH SHIELD MAY CONTACT AND RUB AGAINST THE STEERING SHAFT. PROLONGED CONTACT COULD SEVER THE STEERING SHAFT RESULTING IN A TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING.
