IF THE WINDSHIELD MASK IS NOT ANGLED CORRECTLY, THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD COULD COME OUT OF THE RUBBER MOULDING, ALLOWING THE WINDSHIELD GLASS TO SHIFT BACK APPROXIMATELY ONE INCH. THIS MOVEMENT MAY OCCUR SUDDENLY, POSSIBLY DISTRACTING THE DRIVER AND AFFECTING HIS ABILITY TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1981070.
