AN INEFFECTIVE WELD AT THE SPLINED CENTRE OF THE STEERING WHEEL HUB TO THE HUB PERIMETER COULD UNDER SEVERE STRAIN AND DEFLECTION, FAIL AND RESULT IN STEERING WHEEL SEPARATION. STEERING WHEEL DISENGAGEMENT MAY LEAD TO LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING WITH A POTENTIAL FOR VEHICLE CRASH.
