VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN PRODUCED WITH BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS THAT HAVE IMPROPERLY ANODIZED INTERNAL SURFACES. THIS COULD CAUSE ACCELERATED WEAR OF A MASTER CYLINDER PISTON SEAL TO THE EXTENT THAT ONE PORTION OF THE SPLIT BRAKE SYSTEM BECOMES INEFFECTIVE. THIS WOULD INCREASE STOPPING DISTANCES AND COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1985029.
