THE HOLE IN THE THROTTLE LEVER AND THE STOP PIN MAY BE MISMATCHED WHICH COULD ALLOW THE PIN TO LOOSEN AND FALL OUT. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN, THE TENSION SPRING ATTACHED TO THE THROTTLE LEVER ASSEMBLY WOULD SEPARATE FROM THE LEVER CAUSING THE LEVER TO MOVE TO FULL THROTTLE POSITION, IDLE POSITION OR REMAIN IN THE POSITION THE LEVER WAS IN AT THE MOMENT OF FAILURE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1985048.
