THE WIRING CONNECTIONS TO THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SENSOR ON THE MASTER CYLINDER CAP WERE REVERSED DUE TO A DESIGN ERROR, RESULTING IN FAILURE OF THE SENSOR TO TRANSMIT A SIGNAL TO THE BRAKE WHEN THE FLUID LEVEL IS LESS THAN ONE-FOURTH FULL. THIS IS IN NON-COMPLIANCE WITH C.M.V.S.S. 105 - HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEMS.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1986025.
