VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH IDLER ARM BRACKETS THAT ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FRACTURE AT THE THREADED SHAFTS DUE TO IMPROPER HEAT TREATMENT. A FRACTURED IDLER ARM BRACKET WOULD RESULT IN A CLUNKING NOISE ON TURNS AND A LOOSE FEELING IN THE STEERING WHEEL DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. STEERING CONTROL WOULD BE MAINTAINED HOWEVER BECAUSE BOTH FRONT WHEELS WOULD REMAIN CONNECTED TO THE STEERING ARM. rnCORRECTION: IDLER ARM ASSEMBLY WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1987025.
