THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH MAY NOT BE PROPERLY ADJUSTED WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE SECONDARY LATCH BECOMING BENT. A BENT SECONDARY LATCH COULD CONTACT THE PRIMARY LATCH RETURN SPRING PREDISPOSING IT TO DISENGAGE. IF THE SECONDARY LATCH WAS NOT PROPERLY ENGAGED AND THE PRIMARY LATCH WERE TO DISENGAGE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE HOOD COULD UNEXPECTEDLY FLY OPEN AND OBSTRUCT THE DRIVER'S VISION. THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
CORRECTION: SECONDARY LATCH WILL BE INSPECTED FOR PROPER ADJUSTMENT AND ALL BENT LATCHES WILL BE REPLACED.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Pontiac: 332 in the register, and 174 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 1988.
