VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH THE WHEEL LUG NUTS NOT TORQUED TO SPECIFICATION. THIS COULD ALLOW THE LUG NUTS TO LOOSEN AND/OR COME OFF THE WHEEL STUDS. EVENTUALLY WHEEL SEPARATION COULD OCCUR, RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND THE POSSIBILITY OF A VEHICLE CRASH. rnCORRECTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED TO ASSURE PROPER WHEEL NUT TORQUE. LOOSE OR MISSING LUG NUTS AND THEIR WHEEL STUDS WILL BE REPLACED.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1988022.
