THR AXLE BEAM HANGER BRACKETS ON THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE INSUFFICIENT WELD MATERIAL ATTACHING THE BRACKET TO THE AXLE HOUSING. THIS COULD CAUSE THE AXLE BEAM HANGER BRACKET TO SEPARATE FROM THE AXLE HOUSING WHICH IN TURN COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND A POSSIBLE VEHICLE OVERTURN. CORRECTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED AND WELD STRENGTHENED WHERE NECESSARY.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1989078.
