THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM ON THESE VEHICLES MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER CONTAMINATION. IF THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM BECOMES WET WHILE IT IS ENGAGED THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF CREATING A SHORT CIRCUIT. THIS COULD CAUSE THE CRUISE CONTROL TO MALFUNCTION AND POSSIBLY CAUSE THE MOTORCYCLE'S SPEED TO INCREASE AUTOMATICALLY. NOTE: ALL NORMAL METHODS OF DISENGAGING THE CRUISE CONTROL REMAIN FUNCTIONAL AND CAN BE USED BY THE DRIVER TO REVERT THE VEHICLE SPEED BACK TO MANUAL CONTROL. rnCORRECTION: CRUISE CONTROL MODULE WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1989106.
