ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ROCKWELL TANDEM DRIVE AXLES AND OUTBOARD MOUNTED BRAKE DRUMS, THE NUTS THAT RETAIN THE WHEEL HUBS ON THE DRIVE AXLES MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY TORQUED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE DURING ASSEMBLY. THIS COULD RESULT IN LEFT REAR WHEEL SEPARATION AND A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. rnCORRECTION: THE LEFT SIDE DRIVE AXLE SPINDLE JAM NUTS ON BOTH FORWARD AND REAR DRIVE AXLES ARE TO BE TORQUED TO PROPER SPECIFICATION. IF THE WHEEL HUB NUTS ARE FOUND TO BE LOOSE THEY ARE TO BE REPLACED.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1989136.
