ON VEHICLES WITH TRACTION CONTROL, THE CROSSMEMBER MOUNTED BRAKE VALVES WERE MOUNTED WITH THE EXHAUST PORT UPWARD WHICH MAY ALLOW WATER TO ENTER THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM AND CAUSE BLOCKAGE UNDER FREEZING CONDITIONS. THIS MAY LIMIT THE ABILITY OF THE BRAKE CHAMBERS TO EXHAUST AFTER A SERVICE BRAKE APPLICATION WHICH CAN RESULT IN THE SERVICE BRAKES DRAGGING AND POSSIBLY OVERHEATING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE DRIVE AXLES.rnCORRECTION: BRAKE VALVES WILL BE INVERTED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1993144.
