On certain motorcycles, the footrest mounting brackets can bend, crack or break due to improper heat treatment of the bracket during manufacture. Repeated shock from jumping, etc. can cause failure of the bracket which in turn could result in loss of driver control. Correction: Motorcycles will be inspected and, if required, reinforcement plates will be added to the footrest brackets and the brackets will be heat treated.
