On certain vehicles equipped with Caterpillar 3406E engines, there is the potential for chafing between Peterbilt engine wiring and Caterpillar fuel lines near the fuel filter housing on the left side of the engine. This chafing condition can cause a fire without prior warning. Correction: Engine wiring and fuel lines will be inspected and repaired or replaced as necessary.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2000066.
