On certain vehicles, the Honeywell-Bendix E-8P brake valve may allow water to contaminate the air brake system. This contamination may freeze causing the valve to be inoperative and effect the vehicle's brake performance, which could result in loss of vehicle control and a crash without prior warning. Correction: The brake valve will be modified by sealing the valve and replacing the brake plunger. The air system will be inspected and purged of any moisture.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2000084.
