Certain vehicles clutch rods are failing from fatigue near the turnbuckle due to bending moments experienced during each pedal cycle. The clutch rod can break without warning and make it difficult to shift and if the clutch rod breaks while the vehicle is stopped, the vehicle may lunge unexpectedly in the direction of the selected gear. Correction: Dealers will replace the clutch rod assembly with a solid rod design that does not have a turnbuckle.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2002119.
