On certain motorcycles, abnormal wear of certain transmission components could result in a broken retaining circlip. If the circlip breaks, the transmission could lock up, which would also cause the rear wheel to lock up. This could result in loss of control and a crash, possibly resulting in serious injury or death. Correction: Dealer will replace certain transmission components with new ones.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2004004.
