On certain school and commercial minibuses built on Ford E350 & E450 chassis with the optional BBX battery box, the battery fusible link was omitted during assembly. Without the protection of a fusible link, in the event of an electrical short, the positive battery cable could overheat and fail. If the battery cable fails, an electrical short could result in an underhood fire. Correction: Dealers will install a fusible link.
