On certain fire trucks, the suspension seat restraining tethers are too long to ensure compliance with CMVSS 207. The seat tether restrains the seat during pull testing as the suspension components are not designed to restrain the seat on their own. The longer seat tethers may not adequately restrain the seat during a vehicle crash, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the seat tethers with shorter ones.
