On certain fire trucks, the pitman arm may fracture under severe load caused by three loading conditions. In all cases, the front axle must be turned full left or right while: 1) simultaneously backing-up and braking hard, 2) driving one wheel over or against a curb, or, 3) steering the front axle full left or right when the vehicle is stationary. These are all low or no-speed events. Correction: Dealers will install pitman arms made of higher strength material.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2007340.
