On certain vehicles, the brake master cylinder may have received inadequate lubrication on the secondary cup during assembly. This could cause sliding resistance of the piston to be excessive, which in turn could cause the return of the piston to be slow upon release of the brake. In extreme cases, the piston may not return completely. Correction: Dealers will rebuild the master cylinder.
