Certain school buses do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 121 - Brake Systems. The rear brake valve module was incorrectly fitted with a standard 90-degree elbow where a 90-degree check valve should have been used. As a result, the rear brake system does not meet the CMVSS bleed down test. In addition, in the event of a catastrophic line failure, the emergency brakes will apply without warning. Correction: Dealers will affect repairs.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2006223.
