On certain trucks, fasteners that fix the steering column brackets may not have received adequate tightening torque during vehicle assembly. Over time, the fasteners may loosen causing excessive play in the steering column. This could cause the driver to lose steering control and may result in a vehicle crash with injuries or death. Correction: Dealers will tighten the steering column bolts to specs.
