On certain trucks, improper installation procedures may have damaged one or both locking tabs on the rear wheel spindle nut during vehicle assembly. Damage to the locking clip tabs reduces the nut's ability to resist rotation possibly allowing the nut to back off and the dual wheel set to become separated from the vehicle. If this happens, the vehicle may become difficult to control, leading to a crash with injury or death. In addition, the separated wheel assembly may pose a risk to other road users or bystanders. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace damaged spindle nuts.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2007250.
