Certain vehicles were fitted with brake discs for 16 inch wheels rather than 17 inch wheels. The smaller diameter discs could be exposed to higher thermal loads during braking. If this occurred during conditions of intense brake usage, then braking performance would be reduced. Even though sufficient braking capability would be maintained to slow and stop the vehicle, the risk of a crash still exists. Correction: Dealers will inspect brake discs & brake pads and replace them if necessary.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2008369.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the Mini Clubman, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Mini: 45 in the register, and 458 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2008.
