On certain trucks, the fasteners on the high pressure fuel pump may not have received adequate tightening torque - 23Nm instead of the required 43Nm. This could allow the O-ring between the pump housing and barrel to protrude and leak. Diesel fuel leakage may ignite on a hot engine surface and cause a fire, which could result in property damage, personal injury or death. As well, diesel fuel spilt on the roadway could endanger other road users. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, either replace the fuel pump or tighten its fasteners .
