On certain vehicles, the rear axle outer end hub may have not been primed with oil properly during the rear axle installation process. Potential lack of oil may cause the outer end bearing to heat up and/or seize, possibly resulting in the overheating of the wheel end. As a result, a wheel end fire may occur, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace bearings, seals, and add oil to the outer end hubs. Races and axle housing will be inspected and replaced as necessary.
