On certain vehicles, the rear brake calipers may not have been properly machined and, as a result, brake fluid will leak due to improper sealing. If this occurs, the Low Brake Fluid Level Warning Light on the instrument panel will illuminate indicating that the brake fluid level should be attended to by the driver. If the vehicle continues to be driven with the Low Brake Fluid Level Warning Light illuminated, the driver will experience a soft or spongy brake pedal. In addition if both of these indicators are ignored, braking performance will be reduced. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear brake calipers.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2010425.
