On certain fire trucks, the instrument panel warning lamp may not illuminate to alert the vehicle operator of a malfunction in the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Should this occur, the operator, unaware of an SRS problem, may not take appropriate precautions and have it corrected. As a result, the airbags may not deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted), which could increase the risk of personal injuries to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will correct the warning lamp wiring.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2011226.
