On certain aerial devices installed on utility service vehicles (to elevate personnel in order to facilitate working on overhead service lines, for tree trimming, etc.), the lower boom could crack near the pivot and fail. This could allow the boom to fall, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Authorized service centers will inspect and, if necessary, install a boom stiffener kit.
