On certain vehicles, the coolant bypass valve may stick in a position that does not allow coolant flow to the heater core. Loss of windshield defrosting and defogging functions may, under certain driving conditions, compromise the driveru2019s ability to see the road and its users, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the coolant bypass valve, and reprogram the powertrain control module with updated software.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2013156.
