On certain vehicles, the brake caliper mounting bolts may have been insufficiently tightened during vehicle assembly. Loose bolts may allow a caliper to detach from its mount, which could result in partial loss of brake function. This could increase stopping distances, possibly resulting in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts to the specified torque.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2013299.
