On certain vehicles, the accelerator pedal throttle position sensor could fail. A faulty throttle position sensor will return the engine to idle. In certain cases, an abrupt return to idle could result in the engine stalling, causing a loss of motive power which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the accelerator pedal throttle position sensor and reprogram the engine control module.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2013332.
